2025 Clay County Turkey Fest

This past week the University of Montevallo Outdoor Scholars went to Henrietta Texas for the Annual Turkey Fest hunting competition. Coach Steve Long and students Parker O'Brien and Cole Martin spent three days hunting Rio Grande Turkeys to see if they could win the World Championship. With a 2-bird total of 142 points the Scholars team placed 1^st in the competition. The 2^nd place team scored 113, which gave the Scholars team a dominating win. The scoring was NWTF scoring, Beard X 2, combine spurs X 10, and the weight of the bird. The trip was a huge success for the Outdoor Scholars Program. GO FALCONS!!!
